Roy Foster
Owner
I am the proud owner of Roy Foster's Automotive. I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. I knew I wanted to own an automotive shop just like my father Roy Foster, when I was a young kid. My first automotive job was working for my father Roy in 1978. I started my automotive career pumping gasoline, washing windshields, and checking the oil. I loved working for my father; he taught me the value of honesty and hard work. I always admired him for doing everything possible to set his family up for success. I enjoyed working in our shop as an ASE-Master Technician for nearly 30 years. I enjoy skiing, hiking, and riding mountain bikes with my sons Logan, Zach, Mike, and my daughter Abbey when I am not at work. I am happily married to Jacque Foster and hope to travel the world with her when we retire.

Zach Foster
Technician
Like my dad and brothers, I began working in the shop in my early teens performing basic tasks like oil changes, tire repairs, and cleaning. I entered the NAPA Apprentice Program our shop offers to help accelerate my automotive education. I love working with my family and with my dad. My dad has been my hero my entire life; he has always put his family first and has worked very hard to provide a great life for our family. If I am not at work or school, you will likely find me playing in the hills, whether it’s skiing, mountain biking, wheeling with friends or ripping up and down on the side by side. I love my friends and family more than anything in the world. I had an opportunity after high school to keep playing baseball, but the situation I was in was too good to leave; I had already completed half of my apprenticeship and wanted to see it through, I am now a 1g and ASE certified technician and one step closer to catching my dad.

Nichole Foster
Office Manager
My nickname around the shop and with my friends is Collie. I am proud to be a part of the Foster family and also the family business. I began my tenure at Roy Foster's in 2013. I started out cleaning up the office and helping clean up in the shop area. I have since been promoted to the office manager and our bookkeeper. I am very happily married to Steven Foster, a man I really admire for his work ethic, patience, and how amazing of father he is to our son Carson. In our free time we love to coach my son's baseball team and travel around watching him play baseball. When I was a child, I always wanted to be a teacher, so I really love being able to teach my son. One day I hope to retire and move to Montana and take in all the beautiful nature.

I was born and raised in Pahrump, Nevada. I moved to Reno nearly 8 years ago to attend the University of Nevada. While in school I wanted to find a job where I could get my hands dirty and fix things. Since I was about 10, I knew I wanted to find out how things worked and I enjoyed repairing things when they were broken. Naturally, Roy Foster’s Automotive was a great fit for me. I began working here in 2014 as a lube technician and cleaning the shop. I progressed further into automotive repairs before becoming a service advisor in 2016. I feel like I am a good fit for my job, I believe it helps me do a better job when I am honest and compassionate with our customers, and try and understand what they are going through. I married my wife Helen in the fall of 2017; we live with our dog Roo in our first home together.

Dave Vonarx
Technician
I have been a technician for more than 40 years. I am an ASE certified Master Technician. I have been working with Roy Foster';s Automotive for almost 20 years after moving to Reno from Los Angeles. My first automotive repair experience came from maintaining and repairing my car in high school, I had a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 440. I love the challenges of being a technician, I like to take on difficult tasks involving electrical problems and diagnosing vehicles that are not necessarily easy to figure out. I didn';t always think I would be a technician. When I was young, I wanted to be an airline pilot and travel the world. When I retire my dream vacation is to take my wife Kathleen on a riverboat cruise through Europe.

Eric Moon
Technician
I have been born and raised in Reno, Nevada. I started working with Roy Foster’s Automotive in 1999. When I started I was mopping floors, cleaning the shop, doing oil changes and changing tires. I have since become an ASE Certified Technician. When repairing vehicles I like to first start by doing research on the vehicle’s concerns. Once I have a clear understanding of what is happening I can plan my approach for diagnosing and repairing vehicles. My detailed approach helps make my diagnosis accurate and my repairs effective. When I am not at work I love to go hiking, camping and spending time with my girlfriend Karen. I dream of one day owning my own sailboat and sailing around the world.

Like most Foster boys, I began working in the shop when I was 13. I feel privileged to have been able to start working at such a young age. I have completed the NAPA Apprenticeship program and am an ASE- certified technician. The apprenticeship program allows me to work under ASE-Master Technicians and learn so much daily. I have a few hobbies outside the shop, including skiing with my brothers and dad, mountain biking, hiking, watching movies with my girlfriend, and car detailing. Over time I hope to earn my ASE Master technician certification and take over the family business.

I am coming up on my 21 st trip around the sun in about a month here and am working towards a successful career in the automotive industry. I was lucky enough to get recruited out of high school to come work at Roy's as an apprentice technician. I began the NAPA apprentice program and slowly worked my way up the totem pole. I gained my supervisor's trust and started to get better and more complex jobs. I am now an ASE-Certified repair technician qualified to carry out complex repairs. I have a bug for going fast and hope to continue learning for the rest of my days and maybe one day build racecars for people with big wallets. I spend my free time with my girlfriend Fatima and my dog Moose, and we like to spend time at Lake Tahoe.

Service Advisor
I am from Akron, Ohio. I moved to Reno in November of 2021 after selling my home. I have deep roots in the automotive industry from both my personal and professional sides of my life. I started working on engines with my dad when I was very young riding dirt bikes. When I became old enough to drive, I started building cars and later switched over to motorcycles. I have worked as a technician for 7 years, a shop manager for 5, and am now service advising for Roy. I went to school at Stark State Automotive Technical School back in Ohio for advanced automotive repair and diagnostics. All my combined experience in the automotive field makes me a unique service advisor in a sense that I am able to really understand the repairs that need to happen with vehicles. I also pride myself in being able to explain to customers what is going on with their vehicles in a way that each individual customer can understand, regardless of their level of knowledge of automotive repair. I love working close to home as I had a long commute when I lived in Ohio and am very much a family guy and like to spend as much time with them as possible. I live with my fiancé Stephanie and my German Shephard Moose.
